Cybersecurity is no longer limited to protecting IT systems. The growing convergence of digital threats, geopolitical tensions and infrastructure vulnerabilities requires organizations to address cyber risk as a matter of governance, business continuity and collective security.

DGS will contribute to WeSec, Il Salone della Sicurezza, taking place on 22 and 23 September 2026 at Allianz MiCo Nord in Milan. Promoted by ABI and organized by ABIServizi through ABIEventi, the first edition of the event takes an integrated approach to security, connecting cybersecurity, physical security, fraud, data protection, artificial intelligence, geopolitics, defence, digital sovereignty and critical infrastructure protection.

On the morning of 23 September, Pierfrancesco De Loiro, Head of North Sales Market Area at DGS, will join the panel “Cybersecurity Is No Longer Just an IT Issue. It Is a Matter of National and Corporate Security.”

The discussion will examine the evolving geopolitical landscape and the spread of hybrid attacks combining disinformation, infrastructure sabotage and intrusions into critical systems. Companies are increasingly exposed to threats that can compromise data, processes, essential services and supply chain relationships, with consequences extending beyond the boundaries of an individual organization.

The panel will explore some of the main dimensions of cyber risk, from the offensive use of artificial intelligence to attacks targeting digital supply chains. It will also examine the growing influence of geopolitical factors on security strategies. Key topics will include the evolution of defence models, board-level engagement and the increasingly blurred boundary between corporate protection and collective security.

The event aims to foster closer cooperation between the public and private sectors and build a coordinated response to evolving threats.
