DGS CyLABs: Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP)

To holistically address the risk associated with cloud-native applications, within the CNAPP cyber security lab (CyLAB), DGS experts develop new techniques for identifying and responding to infrastructure gaps to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information.

Today, business demands fast and responsive application development from IT Departments. To do so, they leverage the potential offered by Cloud-Native architectures using micro-services infrastructure (containers, Kubernetes and serverless functions). The adoption of these new architectural models necessitates the adoption of new cyber security paradigms to prevent cyber attacks and information loss (data leakage).

CNAPP – Cloud Native Application Protection Platform is a Cloud-Native security model that enables an integrated approach to cybersecurity. The model consists of an integrated set of security capabilities for cloud-native applications, extending throughout the lifecycle of the applications themselves. Under the CNAPP “umbrella” many of the existing controls that have so far been implemented independently (such as CSPM, CIEM, CWPP) are brought together into a single holistic platform, facilitating timely and rapid responses to cyber security attacks.

The purpose of our CNAPP CyLAB is the development of new techniques for identifying and responding to infrastructure gaps related to Cloud environments in the field:

  • Compliance
  • Risk Management
  • Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)
  • Cloud Service Network Security (CSNS)
  • Cloud Workload Protection Platform (CWPP)
  • Cloud infrastructure entitlement management (CIEM)

The results of the CNAPP lab enable DGS to concretely support companies in implementing cutting-edge cybersecurity strategies that protect cloud-native applications while ensuring the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information.
