Walter Ruffinoni appointed Chairman of DGS

The appointment is part of a strategic industrial plan involving €300 million in investments and 3,000 new hires, which has already seen the entry of eight highly experienced executives strengthening the Group’s top management.

The Shareholders’ Meeting of DGS S.p.A., Italy’s leading player in Digital Transformation, Cyber Security and Advisory Consulting for enterprises and Public Administration, has appointed Walter Ruffinoni as the new Chairman of the DGS Group, as part of the Group’s newly defined top management structure.

Walter Ruffinoni brings with him extensive and well-established experience at the helm of major Information Technology companies. Over a career spanning more than thirty years, he has successfully led organizations through significant growth, expansion and cultural transformation journeys.

Today, Walter Ruffinoni holds senior positions in leading education and innovation institutions: he is Managing Director of POLI.Design, Chairman of ELIS Innovation Hub, and Non-Executive Director of Getronics. He previously served as CEO of NTT Data in Italy for 11 years and in Europe for 2 years, following earlier senior management roles at Siebel and Oracle.

With ICG joining as the new reference shareholder, the DGS Group, led by Salvatore Frosina and Vincenzo Fiengo, has launched a new industrial plan aimed at significant growth, both organic and through acquisitions, in the areas of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and fintech.

The plan foresees, by 2028, more than €300 million in investments, the recruitment of 3,000 new professionals in Italy, and a substantial strengthening of the Group’s managerial structure. This will be achieved not only through the development of internal talent, but also by attracting young professionals and highly experienced executives with strong industry credentials.

In line with this strategic plan, in addition to the appointment of Walter Ruffinoni as Chairman, the Group has welcomed eight new top managers from leading IT companies operating in Italy:

Germana Montroni, Chief Financial Officer & Board Member – Monica Basso, Head of Group Internal Audit – Pierluigi Brienza, Corporate Strategy Advisor – Pierfrancesco De Loiro, Head of North Sales Market, Cybersecurity – Biagio De Marchis, Executive Vice President, Business Growth – Eraldo Federici, COO DGS, Digital Solution – Roberta Giani, Chief Marketing & Communication Officer – Francesco Schininà, Head of M&A and Integration.

Commentingon his appointment, Walter Ruffinoni, Chairman of DGS S.p.A., stated: “I am honored and pleased to take on the role of Chairman of DGS S.p.A. I will place my experience at the service of DGS: an ambitious, unique and distinctly Italian project with truly compelling growth prospects. The development of our country and its entrepreneurial fabric depends on new enabling factors, namely cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, areas in which DGS positions itself as a distinctive strategic partner. Together with my colleagues, we look to the future with strong motivation, ready to further strengthen DGS’s role as a key market player.”

Vincenzo Fiengo and Salvatore Frosina, Co-CEOs of DGS, added: “The new team, together with the existing one that has brought us this far, projects us confidently into the future, enhancing our level of expertise and further strengthening our market position. We are extremely pleased to welcome Walter. His deep knowledge of our industry, combined with his experience in both the industrial and educational sectors, makes him the ideal figure to support our development plans across all the areas in which we operate.”
