DGS joins the United Nations Global Compact, the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world.<\/h1><\/div>\n\n\n\n

DGS is pleased to announce that we have joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative<\/strong>, a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this announcement, DGS is proud to join thousands of other companies globally committed to taking responsible business action<\/strong> to create the world we all want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UN Global Compact<\/strong> is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 15,000 companies and 3,000 non-business signatories based in over 160 countries, and more than 70 Local Networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ten principles<\/strong>, of the United Nations Global Compact, divided into 4 macro-areas<\/strong>, are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HUMAN RIGHTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LABOUR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. the effective abolition of child labour; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ENVIRONMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANTI-CORRUPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
